ENGINE CHEK Takes the Mess and Guess Out of Monitoring Engine Condition
Engine Chek, a new engine-monitoring device introduced today from Stewart Development, gives consumers a quicker, cleaner, and high-tech version of a favorite low-tech technique of pro engine builders and mechanics.

Professional engine builders often cut apart the oil filter after running a newly assembled engine for the first time. The time-tested but messy technique gives access to the paper filter element so it can be checked for trapped material. The type and amount of trapped material gives the building team a good indication of the condition of the engine bearings, camshaft, lifters, etc. Race and fleet mechanics perform this check periodically to monitor engine condition.

“Cutting apart a used oil filter is a tough, messy job,” says Howard Stewart, CEO of Stewart Development and an engineer with over 25 years experience working for Bobby Hamilton Racing, Petty Enterprises, and other prestigious motor sports and performance affiliates, and the chief engineer for several industry recognized, patented products, such as the LSB Brake System and Stewart Components Water Pumps. “Whether you’re a pro mechanic or a do-it-yourselfer, Engine Chek saves a lot of mess and trouble while quickly giving a clear idea of how well an engine is performing,” says Stewart.

Engine Chek’s technology makes it easy to check for foreign material in the engine. Car owners and mechanics just need to insert a special hi-flow 60x60 stainless steel ENGINE CHEK screen on a standard oil filter before installing it.

“ENGINE CHEK traps debris before it enters the filter so it’s easy to check for any engine problems during each oil change,” Stewart says. “For example, if the ENGINE CHEK screen traps a small fleck of bearing material, then you know you have a bearing problem.”

A by-pass hole in the screen provides oil flow for cold starts and prevents a loss of oil pressure in the unlikely event of the inspection screen becoming clogged. Screens come in a package of four for all popular gas and diesel passenger car and light truck applications.

So try ENGINE CHEK on your engine, old or new. Hopefully you won’t detect anything. If you do, you’ll be glad you used ENGINE CHEK. It’s cheap insurance.
