Founded in 1975 by Howard Stewart,
Stewart Development is the leader
in developing and marketing engine
and braking system components for
the performance automotive and professional
auto racing industry in North America.
In 2000 the water pump and cooling system
research and development division, Stewart
Components, was acquired by EMP Corporation.
Also in 2000 the brake system division,
Stewart Brake Development, was acquired
by DPI Racing Products. Following the sale
of these product lines, Stewart Development
has concentrated on contract research and
development for major NASCAR teams and
developed the Engine Chek pre-filter screen,
as well as several other innovative products
that will be introduced in the near future.
Stewart Development is affiliated
with the industry's leading professional
organizations including the Society
of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the
Specialty Equipment Market Association
(SEMA), the National Association
for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), the National Hot Rod Association
(NHRA), and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).
SD prides itself on being a prominent
member of the motorsports community.
